The training of teachers by specialists helps to enhance their teaching skills and emphasise their professionalism. As teachers ourselves, we regularly update our skills and so have partnered with some of the best providers of teacher education around the UK and in Ireland. Main Qualifications for Teachers of English

Whilst there are many courses on offer for TESOL (the teaching of English as a second language), the two most recognised qualifications are from the University of Cambridge (ESOL) and Trinity College London. Both offer qualifications at Certificate and Diploma Level and these usually require observations of teaching practice as well as areas of study with submission of coursework.

Courses for Subject Teachers delivering in English

Whilst there are a variety of skills courses available, we would draw attention to two main areas – delivering courses in English where it is not the native language of the students and sometimes also the teacher. The second area is known as “CLIL” and refers to studying an academic subject but also learning the English relating to that subject area at the same time. If teachers have additional skills for both EMI and CLIL delivery of material it can greatly enhance the student experience.

Online Teaching Qualifications

The pandemic experience has driven many education providers and their students to deal with educating online. However, many teachers have struggled to deal with the technology as well as adapting their teaching methods and materials to an online delivery method. Our providers can offer training for online teaching whether this is blended with classroom learning ar truly online with synchronous or asynchronous delivery.
